If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
…You’ll be a man, my son”
( or a woman, my daughter!)
Hi! I am Karuna Thind, a licensed clinical social worker. I grew up in New Delhi, the capital of India. Living in and traveling to various parts of the world helps me connect with people from varied backgrounds.
I have worked in the field of social services for over 15 years now. As a young child, I was always ready to listen to people’s problems and help them to find a solution. I believe I have an old soul and seemed to consistently connect with more senior members of my family or my friend’s parents and grandparents. I knew a career in helping people would be the right fit for me from a very young age!
How I work
To copy Oprah’s famous saying, I want to help people live their best lives. As a coach/guide, my approach is to assist each client in identifying their strengths and developing or simply utilizing their own skills and strengths to successfully move forward.
My goal is to help each client to be stronger and healthier versions of themselves. I do so by giving them space with no judgments, validating their feelings and experiences, and assisting them in using their own strengths to solve their problems. (Maybe even strengths they did not know they had!) As I listen, I help each client create more robust internal resources to feel happier, stronger, and better equipped to handle new life stressors and changes.
More about me
I think my personality is a mixture of traits: Goal-oriented but realistic. Quick-thinker but mindful. And truth be told, I am very hard on myself. One of my personal goals is to be less of a perfectionist and take things a bit easier. (I am sure my family would appreciate this!)
Also – fun fact – I have traveled to every continent except Antarctica!
